Powder Coating & Custom Finishes
Powder coating costs, durability, colors, and custom wheel finishes that survive Arizona heat.
Powder coating is a dry pigment applied with an electrostatic charge and baked at around 400 degrees, so it melts into one continuous shell bonded to the metal. That is why it resists chips, brake dust and chemicals better than spray paint, and why it holds its color under Arizona UV and 110-degree summers. There is no flat per-wheel price: the quote depends on wheel diameter, the color and finish, whether an old coating has to be stripped first, and whether curb rash, a bend or a crack must be repaired before coating. Gloss and satin black are the most affordable finishes; metallics, candies and custom colors cost more. A properly prepped and baked coat commonly lasts ten years or more. Powder coating is a refinish, not a repair, so the right order is always repair first, then coat.
