Crack Assessment

We inspect the crack's location and depth. Inner-barrel cracks are usually repairable; cracks through spokes or mounting faces are evaluated case-by-case — we never weld a wheel that can't be made safe.

Aircraft-grade aluminum is TIG-welded into the prepared crack, rebuilding the area to original structural strength — not a surface patch.

The weld is machined and smoothed so the repair area matches the original wheel profile.

Is a TIG-welded rim safe to drive on?+
Yes — when done correctly by a qualified welder, a TIG repair restores road-worthy strength. We pressure-test and inspect every wheel, and we'll tell you straight if a wheel is beyond safe repair.
Can you fix a cracked rim without welding?+
No safe permanent fix exists without welding. Sealants and epoxies are temporary at best and dangerous at worst. TIG welding is the industry-standard structural repair.
How much does cracked rim repair cost?+
Crack welding is $200 for the first crack on a bare wheel, plus $40 for each additional crack on the same wheel. With the tire mounted it's from $250, or from $350 if we pull the wheel from the whole vehicle. That's a fraction of OEM replacement, which often runs $300-$1200+.
